World Stationery Day
Every year we celebrate National Stationery week from April 23-29. This year National Stationery Day fell on the 25th! As you can see by now, April is absolutely the month for paper lovers. We not only get to write letters of a whole month (April is National Card and Letter Writing Month), but we also get to celebrate a whole week of Stationery!
The goals for the week are:
- To get stationery lovers talking about and sharing details of their stationery and what they use it for, plus the products, brands and retailers they like and can recommend.
- To promote the importance of hand writing and encourage people to keep writing.
- To get more people spelling stationery with an “E”!
I must confess that I am always mixing these words up. I have to remind myself that "stationary" with an A means: fixed in a station, unchanging in condition. And "stationery" with an E means: materials (such as paper, pens, and ink) for writing or typing.
So now I'd like to share some of my and Monica's favorite stationery, as well as great online stores! Monica loves her Winsor & Newton gouache and Finetec pearl colors. All of our cards are painted with them. I, on the other hand, love Pilot's Futayaku Double-Sided Brush Pen. The ink and brush of this pen is black and consistent. It makes me write better. But... perhaps Rhodia paper has something to do with that also. Once you feel the smoothness of this paper, you will never want something else. It's heaven!
I hope you try these products in your art. They have greatly improved ours!
